DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The No. 7 ranked Lander men's tennis team remained unbeaten in Peach Belt Conference play Friday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated No. 32 North Georgia, 7-2, at the North Georgia Tennis Complex.
Lander improves to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in the PBC, while North Georgia slips to 7-7, 1-7.
In singles, No. 1 Felipe Friedrich (NG) def. #26 Vincent Verpeaux (L) 7-6, 1-6, 6-4; No. 2 Matheus Guida (NG) def. Adam Jonsson (L) 6-4, 6-3; No. 3 Oscar Axelsson (L) def. Giovani Santos (NG) 6-1, 7-6; No. 4 August Iwdal (L) def. Anthony Veryard (NG) 7-5, 6-1; No. 5 Diego Zegarra (L) def. Sam Gantt (NG) 6-0, 6-1; and No. 6 Paulo Fernandes (L) def. Matheus Pineda (NG) 6-4, 6-0.
