Box Score 2 GREENWOOD – Taylor Donson's RBI single in the first game gave Lander an 8-7 extra-inning victory and a split of the Bearcats' Peach Belt Conference doubleheader against Flagler College Saturday afternoon at Doug Spears Field. Flagler won the second game, 9-8.
Lander moves to 11-20 overall and 1-9 in the PBC, while Flagler is 22-12, 4-6.
In the first game, Lander's M.K. Pegram (5-7) earned the win after striking out three, walking five and allowing six earned runs on nine hits in the complete eight innings.
Flagler's Katie Enright (9-5) took the loss, striking out four, walking four and allowing four earned runs on three hits in 2.2 innings of relief.
Flagler took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Molly Whittington's two-RBI double that plated Christen Moon and Lauren Roudabush.
The Bearcats tied the game at 2-all in the third when Melanie Davis and Taylor Donson scored on a Flagler fielding error.

Casey Corbitt gave Lander the lead back at 5-4 in the sixth when she went to second on Heather Yoder's sacrifice bunt then scored on a Flagler throwing error.
Escue's three-run homer in the seventh gave the Saints a 7-5 lead.
Lander rallied in the seventh and forced extra innings when Bethany Beggs' triple to right field drove in Sheriff, then Beggs went home on Corbitt's groundout.
The Bearcats claimed the win on Donson's RBI single that plated Hannah Gatley in the eighth.
For Lander, Sheriff and Beggs both went 2-for-4, and Donson was 2-for-5.
For Flagler, Flink and Escue batted 2-for-3.
In the second game, Flagler's Tinsley Smith (3-1) was awarded the win after striking out one, walking six and allowing one earned run on nine hits in six innings pitched. Enright earned her third save of the year with two strikeouts in one inning.
Lander's Amanda Chastain (1-2) suffered the loss after allowing five earned runs on seven hits in 1.1 innings.
Flagler took a 4-0 lead in the first on Lauren Bessent's two-RBI single, Melanie Oliver's groundout and Whittington's run-scoring single.
Lander cut the lead to 4-1 in the bottom half on Corbitt's sacrifice fly that plated Donson.
The Saints stretched the lead to 5-1 in the second when Moon scored on a wild pitch, then made it 7-1 in the third on Moon's two-RBI single.

The Bearcats exploded for six runs in the sixth to tie the game at 8-all. Fuller, who doubled, advanced on Arielle Buchholz's single and went home on a Flagler error, Beggs stroked a three-run homer, Corbitt's triple drove in Chasity Davis Yoder's RBI single plated Corbitt.
The Saints won the game on Flink's RBI single in the seventh.
For Lander, Beggs went 3-for-4 and Fuller 2-for-3.
For Flagler, Little batted 4-for-4, Moon 3-for-3, and Flink, Oliver and Jolley all went 2-for-4.
