Box Score AIKEN – Lander's Jareal Smith and David Pruett combined for 41 points Saturday night, but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats fell to USC Aiken, 89-63, in a Peach Belt Conference game at the Convocation Center.
USCA improves to 17-6 overall and 13-3 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 7-15, 2-13.
Smith led Lander with 21 points, while Pruett added 20 and Mario Pendarvis 11 points. Scott Elder grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
The Pacers were led by Re'mon Nelson's game-high 22 points. Jesse Seilern added 17 points and six rebounds, while Santoine Butler had 14 points and eight rebounds.
Lander connected on 21-of-50 field goals (42 percent), including 4-of-14 threes (28.6 percent), and 17-of-21 free throws (81 percent).
USCA, which led at halftime, 46-38, made 28-of-57 floor shots (49.1 percent), 13-of-28 threes (46.4 percent), and 20-of-21 foul shots (95.2 percent).
USCA outrebounded Lander, 38-23.
