LAKELAND, Fla. - The Lander men's golf team is in sixth place of 15 teams Monday after the first round of the two-day, three-round Matlock Invitational hosted by Florida Southern College at the par-72, 7,090-yard Lone Palm Golf Club.
Barry University leads the team competition with a 17-under-par 559, and is followed by: 2. Florida Southern 567, 3. Lynn 573, 4. Florida Tech and West Florida 580, 6. Lander 584, 7. Columbus State 585, 8. Valdosta State 588, 9. Armstrong Atlantic 589, 10. Eckerd 590, 11. Rollins 592, 12. Georgia College 601, 13. St. Edward's 604, 14. Newberry 607, and 15. West Georgia 612.
Individually for Lander, Greg McCullough (68-73) is tied for eighth at 141, Rob Prior (72-75) is tied for 23rd at 147, Jordan McColl (73-77) and Oliver Van Nairn (79-71) are tied for 38th at 150, and Tucker Nelson (75-77) is tied for 53rd at 152.
The third and final round will be held on Tuesday.
