GREENWOOD – Jade Montgomery scored the lone goal of the game Wednesday afternoon to lead the Wingate women's soccer team to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Lander at the Jeff May Complex.

Wingate improves to 9-1-3, while Lander slips to 9-2.

Montgomery's goal, assisted by Katie Simpson, came at 69:49.

Lander outshot Wingate, 17-14, and led in corner kicks, 4-1.

Lady Bearcat goalkeeper Katie Lyle grabbed eight saves, while Wingate's Ashleyn Hardie had seven.

Lander next travels to Flagler College for a Peach Belt Conference game at 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19.
