Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Treva Mason posted a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds Saturday afternoon to lead the Flagler women's basketball team to a 74-52 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander.
Flagler improves to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 5-8, 2-4.
Lander's Precious Elkins posted a double-double of her own to lead the Lady Bearcats with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Brianna Wade added 11 points and Aarika Judge had nine.
In addition to Mason, Jen Knurek added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Lady Saints, Williesha Spencer had 14 points, and six assists and Christina Brown 10 points.
For the game, Lander connected on 18-of-58 field goals (31 percent), 3-of-17 three pointers (17.6 percent) and 13-of-17 free throws (76.5 percent).
Flagler made 29-of-67 field goals (43.3 percent), including 7-of-24 threes (29.2 percent) and 9-of-13 foul shots (69.2 percent).
Lander outrebounded the Lady Saints, 42-40.
After being tied at 5-5 and 7-7 in the early going, Lander went up 10-7 on a three by Lea Saunders with 15:56 left in the first half. Flagler took an 11-10 advantage at 14:23 on a Knurek layup, but Lander responded with a Judge jumper at 12:48 to retake the lead at 12-11.
Shelbi Lindsey's three at the 12:30 mark put Flagler up 14-12, a lead the Saints would never relinquish.
Flagler earned its first double-digit lead at 6:25 when Christina Brown's three gave the Saints a 23-13 advantage. Flagler led 33-23 at halftime.
The Lady Bearcats got within eight points on an Elkins layup that made it 33-25 just 13 seconds into the second half. After Mason's layup made it 40-29 at 17:21, Flagler maintained a double-figure lead the remainder of the game.
