WINGATE, N.C. – The Lander women's soccer team battled Wingate University to a 1-1 double-overtime tie Saturday night in a non-conference contest.

Lander moves to 1-1-2 overall, while Wingate is 2-0-1.

Chelsey Horan gave Wingate a quick 1-0 lead at 3:32 when she kicked in a loose ball from in front of the goal.

Lander responded at 10:10 to tie the game at 1-1 when Jamie Shaw headed in a cross from Hilary Ferguson.

The Bulldogs outshot Lander, 19-14, and led in corner kicks, 10-3.

Lander goalkeeper Kelsey Blair totaled five saves as did Wingate's Miriam Boucher.
