Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Jamie Shaw scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute Wednesday night to lead the Lander women's soccer team to a 3-2 Peach Belt Conference victory over Georgia College.
Lander improves to 4-1-2 overall and 2-0 in the PBC, while Georgia College falls to 3-4, 0-2.
Georgia College took a 1-0 lead at 15:14 when Ashley Veilleux found the back of the net on an assist from Abby Dalton.
Kendall Couch tied the game at 1-all at 27:28 when she scored her second goal of the season on a header off an assist from Hilary Ferguson.
The two teams then tied it at 2-all after Lander's Alex Rogers gave Lander a 2-1 lead on a penalty kick at 70:22, only to have Georgia College's Haley O'Hayer net the equalizer two minutes later.
Then Shaw netted the game winner, her fifth goal of the season, at 86:12 on a double assist from Kendall Couch and Kimberly Kesler.
Lander outshot GC, 21-16, and led in corner kicks, 3-1.
Lander goalkeeper Kelsey Blair totaled six saves, while the Bobcats' Annie Stephens had five.
