Box Score GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team outshot Georgia Southwestern, 37-4, Saturday afternoon en route to a 2-1 Peach Belt Conference victory at the Jeff May Complex.
The Lady Bearcats improve to 3-1-2 overall and 1-0 in the PBC, while Georgia Southwestern drops to 2-4, 0-2.
Jamie Shaw gave Lander a 1-0 lead at 62:15 when she scored on a pass from Erin Dooley from five yards in front of the goal. The score was Shaw's third of the season.
Jenny Peterson then headed in what proved to be the winning goal at 79:25 for a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Hurricanes scored their lone goal of the game at 87:29 when Amber Milner kicked in a loose ball from five yards out.
Lander led GSW in corner kicks, 5-0.
GSW goalkeeper Amber Bahri tallied 13 saves, while Lander's Kelsey Blair had two.
