GREENWOOD – The No. 10-ranked Lander men's tennis team posted its sixth shutout of the season Friday afternoon when it defeated Limestone College, 9-0, in a non-conference match at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
Lander improves to 10-1, while Limestone suffered its first loss and drops to 3-1.
In singles, Vincent Verpeaux (LU) def. Carlos Yanes (LC), 6-4, 5-7, 10-8; No. 2 Paul-Henri Arrigoni (LU) def. Mike Stephenson (LC), 6-2, 6-3; No. 3 Adam Jonsson (LU) def. Rafael Ferla (LC), 6-4, 6-2; No. 4 Samuel Poutignat (LU) def. Abraham Lascari Diaz (LC), 6-3, 6-0; No. 5 Diego Zegarra (LU) def. Lucas Guinski (LC), 6-1, 7-6; and No. 6 Ross Armstrong (LU) def. Daniel Lopez (LC), 6-3, 7-6.
In doubles, No. 1 Arrigoni/Verpeaux (LU) def. Yanes/Guinski (LC), 8-4; No. 2 Jonsson/Armstrong (LU) def. Stephenson/Ferla (LC), 8-2; and No. 3 Maxime Desmars/Poutignat (LU) def. Diaz/Lopez (LC), 8-4.
