GREENWOOD - The Lander women's tennis team claimed its first shutout of the season Saturday morning when the Lady Bearcats defeated North Greenville University, 9-0, in a non-conference match in their home opener at the new Joe Cabri Courts.

Lander improves to 2-0 overall.

Muriel Adbib (NG), 6-1, 6-1; No. 4 Cayce Bradley (L) def. Cassie Curtis (NG), 6-0, 6-2; No. 5 Raissa Adusumilli (L) def. Rebecca Beacham (NG), 6-0, 6-0; and No. 6 Lori Flick (L) def. Haley Hardwick (NG), 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles, No. 1 Ruffat/Bradley (L) def. Lenz/Adib (NG), 8-2; No. 2 E. Adusumilli/Cordell (L) def. Ribeiro/Curtis (NG), 8-1; and No. 3 James/R.Adusumilli (L) def. Beachman/Gomez (NG), 8-0.
