ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Keondra Barnes, Janyce Ealey and Precious Elkins led the way as the No. 17 Lander Lady Bearcats bounced back from their only Peach Belt Conference loss of the season by beating Flagler 66-45 Saturday afternoon.

The victory at the Flagler Auditorium improved Lander's record to 18-4 overall and 13-1 in the PBC.

The Lady Bearcats won despite making only six of 29 attempts from 3-point range (21 percent) and 10 of 21 free throws (48 percent).

The Saints fell to 2-20 overall and 1-14 in the Peach Belt.

Barnes led Lander with 12 points, making five of eight shots from the floor. Ealey scored 11 points and Elkins had nine points while leading the Lady Bearcats with nine rebounds and six steals.

Brittni Johnson and Ciara Lyons scored nine points apiece for Lander while Kami Phillips led the team with five assists.

Rachel Brown led Flagler with 14 points and eight rebounds. Charlesea Owen added 11 points while Latesha Johnson had eight points, eight rebounds and six assists.

The Lady Bearcats hit just 25 of 74 shots from the floor overall (33 percent) but had a 48-34 edge on the boards and an overwhelming advantage in turnovers, committing only eight while forcing 28 Flagler turnovers.

The Saints made 17 of 40 shots (42 percent), eight of 13 free throws (62 percent) and three of 10 from behind the arc (30 percent).

Lander took the lead for good with a 10-0 run midway through the first half, turning a 9-6 deficit into a 16-9 advantage.

Rachelle Rasley started the run with a 3, tying the game at 9-all at the 12:39 mark. Phillips, who assisted Rasley's basket, stole the ball and got another assist when she passed to Elkins for the go-ahead bucket.

Ealey hit a jump shot, and Phillips found Rasley for another 3 to give the Lady Bearcats a 16-9 lead with 11:17 left.

After Flagler got within 19-16 on Marie Taylor's free throws with 6:48 to go, Lander's Jasmine Judge and Johnson hit back-to-back 3s to increase the lead to 25-16 just under the six-minute mark.

The Lady Bearcats led 28-21 at halftime despite making only 11 of 36 shots (31 percent) from the floor, two of seven free throws (28 percent), and four of 16 from behind the arc (25 percent).

Flagler kept pace early in the second half with Jen Knurek's three-point play pulling the hosts within 36-28 at the 16-minute mark.

But Lander blew the game open with a 13-0 run, holding the Saints scoreless for almost seven minutes and building a 49-28 lead. Phillips started the run with a basket, Ealey scored three consecutive Lady Bearcat baskets, Elkins made a free throw, and Elkins scored twice.

Flagler's Owen's scored to end the run with 9:19 to go.

Owen's basket started an 11-2 Saints run that made the score more respectable. Brown scored twice in a row, pulling Flagler within 51-39 at the 6:29 mark.

But Judge's 3 extended Lander's lead to 57-39 with 4:13 left, and a basket by Lyons gave the Lady Bearcats their first 20-point lead of the game at 61-41 at the three-minute mark. Johnson's 3 upped the margin to 64-42 with 2:21 left.
