Box Score MORROW, Ga. - The Lander women's soccer team battled Clayton State to a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference game.
Lander, which entered the contest on a six-game winning streak, moves to 7-1-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the PBC, while Clayton State is 7-4-1, 3-2-1.
Lander took a quick 1-0 lead when Jamie Shaw headed the ball in off an assist by Hilary Ferguson just 1:35 into the contest. It was Shaw's team-leading eighth goal of the season.
The Lady Lakers came back and forced the tie at 1-1 when Pearl Slattery found the back of the net on an assist from Lea Notthoff at 56:52.
The Lady Bearcats outshot Clayton State, 24-17, and both teams had six corner kicks.
Lander goalkeeper Kelsey Blair and Clayton State's Laoise O'Driscoll both had eight saves.
