GREENWOOD - Armstrong Atlantic's Andye Dawson scored a goal off a corner kick at 32:55 Saturday afternoon to lead the No. 2-ranked Pirate women's soccer team to a 2-1 Peach Belt Conference win over No. 22 Lander at the Jeff May Complex.

Armstrong improves to 15-1-1 overall and clinched the Peach Belt Conference regular-season championship with a perfect 11-0 league record. Lander moves to 10-3-3, 8-2-1. This season is the Lady Bearcats best finish ever in the PBC in the 15-year history of the program.

Both teams will learn later today who their opponents will be in next week's PBC Tournament. Lander will play host to a lower seeded team at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Nadima Skeff gave Armstrong a 1-0 lead at 10:53 off an assist from Emily Cattanach.

Lauren MacDonald tied the game at 1-all for Lander when she found the back of the net at 23:08 on an assist from Kimberly Kesler.

Armstrong outshot the Lady Bearcats, 12-10, while Lander led in corner kicks, 7-6.

Lander goalkeeper Kelsey Blair had seven saves, while AASU's Morgan Luckie had two.
