Box Score 2 BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lander volleyball team split its games Saturday at the Lees-McRae Invitational held at Williams Gymnasium. The Bearcats defeated St. Augustine's College, 3-0, in the first game, but lost to Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-2, in the second.
Lander, 11-11 overall, downed St. Augustine's, 25-10, 25-8, 25-6, but fell to LRC, 23-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-21, 15-6.
Against St. Augustine's, Kaitlyn Harrison tallied 13 kills, while Jessica Register had 27 assists and Katelyn Kraft 10 digs. Register and Tarryn Angermeier both had four block assists.
Lander had a .361 hitting percentage, compared to St. Augustine's .222.
St. Augustine's was led by Victoria Davis (six kills), Julieesa Thomas (nine assists and eight digs) and Chelsea Farrior (eight digs).
In the second game, Harrison had 18 kills and 17 digs, Angermeier 18 kills, Register 50 assists and 17 digs, Madison Kubal 22 digs and Kraft 21 digs. Angermeier also had five block assists.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by Kiaya Robinson (15 kills), Haley Rhyne (14 kills), Morgan Bunker (13 kills, 19 digs), Kayla Morrow (11 kills), Meredith Lutz (53 assists, 15 digs), Emily Culler (29 digs) and Anna Johnson (16 digs).
