SPARTANBURG – After winning its first game of the Mid-South Softball Classic Friday night, Lander dropped both its games on Saturday. The Bearcats lost to Lincoln Memorial, 10-9, then bowed to Lenoir-Rhyne, 5-1.

Lander is 11-10 overall and will face Belmont Abbey at 9 a.m. Sunday, and the University of Charleston at 3 p.m.

Against LMU, Alyssa Hartley and Jaime Presnell both had home runs, while Brittney Sheriff batted 3-for-4 with one triple and three RBI, and Taylor Donson went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Amanda Hamby took the loss.

Against Lenoir-Rhyne, Hayley Leissner suffered the loss. Sheriff, Rachelle Adkins and Chasity Davis all went 1-for-3.
