SPARTANBURG - The Lander softball team earned its first win in this weekend's Mid-South Classic when it defeated Catawba, 3-2, Friday evening.

Lander improves to 11-8 overall.

Hayley Leissner (5-5) earned the win after striking out eight and allowing one earned run.

Taylor Donson had an RBI double and a squeeze bunt RBI, while Rachelle Adkins had an RBI double and Brittney Sheriff went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.
