AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lander women's tennis team rallied for three singles victories Wednesday afternoon after dropping all three doubles matches in a 6-3 Peach Belt Conference loss at No. 45 Augusta State University.
Augusta State improves to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 10-4, 3-4.
In singles, No. 1 Aurelia Ruffat (L) def. Victoria Lindqvist (A), 3-6, 6-0, 6-3; No. 2 Marina Ferreria (A) def. Eliza Adusumilli (L), 6-0, 6-2; No. 3 Cayce Bradley (L) def. Bianca Machado (A), 6-2, 7-5; No. 4 Nicola James (L) def. Julie Fontaine (A), 6-3, 6-3; No. 5 Camila Correa (A) def. Melanise Newbold (L), 6-1, 6-0; and No. 6 Roberta Oliveira (A) def. Chesley Corgan (L), 6-2, 6-3.
