AUGUSTA, Ga. - The No. 11 ranked Lander men's tennis team rebounded from losing all three doubles matches by winning five of six singles Wednesday afternoon to claim a 5-4 Peach Belt Conference victory over No. 18 Augusta State University.
Lander remains unbeaten at 12-0 overall and 4-0 in the PBC. Augusta State drops to 8-5, 0-4.
In singles, No. 1 Paul-Henri Arrigoni (L) def. Bernardo Fernandes (A), 6-3, 6-4; No. 2 Henrique Boturao (A) def. Henrik Willers (L), 6-4, 6-4; No. 3 Carlos Marques (L) def. Victor Cabellos (A), 6-2, 7-6; No. 4 Oscar Perman (L) def. Victor Guimaraes (A), 6-1, 6-0; No. 5 Oscar Axelsson (L) def. Rafael Milhati (A), 6-1, 6-2; and No. 6 Christopher Mattsson (L) def. Jenner Stevenson (A), 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles, No. 1 Fernandes/Boturao (A) def. Perman/Willers (L), 9-7; No. 2 Cabellos/Guimaraes (A) def. Arrigoni/Axelsson (L), 8-4; and No. 3 Coulomb/Stevenson (A) def. Mattsson/Marques (L), 8-6.
