ORLANDO, Fla. - The Lander golf team finished seventh of 17 teams Tuesday afternoon in the three-day, three-round GolfWeek Spring Invitational held at the par-72 Reunion Resort.
Barton College and Lynn University tied with the low team score of 7-under 864, but Barton took home the first-place trophy on the tie breaker. Abilene Christian placed third overall with 863 and was followed by: 4. CSU-Monterey Bay 869, 5. Nova Southeastern 873, 6. Indianapolis 876, 7. Lander 880, 8. Northern Kentucky and Mount Olive 882, 10. St. Edward's 885, 11. Coker 887, 12. Eckerd 888, 13. Carson-Newman 893, 14. Washburn 894, 15. Queens 895, 16. St. Andrews Presbyterian , and 17. St. Mary's DNF.
Individually for Lander, Roberto Nasalli-Rocca (69-76-70) tied for ninth with 215, Wes Bowman (72-73-72) tied for 14th with 217, Max Fischer (71-75-72) tied for 20th with 218, Tyler Foxx (73-81-78) tied for 67th with 232, and Thad Wier (77-80-77) tied for 72nd with 234.
