GAFFNEY - The Lander women's tennis team posted its second straight shutout Saturday afternoon as it cruised past Limestone College, 9-0, in a non-conference match at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 2-0, while Limestone starts the season at 0-1.

In singles, No. 1 Brandi Cordell (LU) def. Jimena Munoz Quiroga, 6-3, 6-3; No. 2 Aurelia Ruffat (LU) def. Eve Aubry, 6-1, 6-1; No. 3 Eliza Adusumilli (LU) def. Lauren Bolender, 6-2, 7-5; No. 4 Nicola James (LU) def. Krystal Barker, 6-0, 6-0; No. 5 Cayce Bradley (LU) def. Bea Nicholas, 6-0, 6-0; and No. 6 Melanise Newbold (LU) def. Jenny Naven, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, No. 1 Cordell/Ruffat (LU) def. Quiroga/Aubry, 8-4; No. 2 Adusumilli/James (LU) def. Bolender/Barker, 8-1; and No. 3 Bradley/Newbold (LU) def. Case/Stephens, 8-0.
