GAFFNEY - The No. 16 Lander men's tennis team swept the doubles matches and won all but the top two singles positions Saturday en route to defeating Limestone, 7-2, in a non-conference match at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center.
Lander improves to 2-0 overall, while Limestone opens the season at 0-1.
In singles, No. 1 Miguel Lopez Zuniga (LC) def. Pau-Henri Arrigoni, 6-4, 5-7, 10-5; No. 2 Mike Stephenson (LC) def. Henrik Willers, 6-4, 3-0; No. 3 Carlos Marques (LU) def. Rafael Ferla, 7-6, 6-1; No. 4 Oscar Axelsson (LU) def. Jordan Vicain, 6-1, 6-1; No. 5 Oscar Perman (LU) def. Abraham Lascari Diaz, 6-4, 6-4; and No. 6 Christopher Mattsson (LU) def. Daniel Lopez, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, No. 1 Willers/Perman (LU) def. Zuniga/Vicain, 8-4; No. 2 Arrigoni/Axelsson (LU) def. Ferla/Lopez, 8-3; and No. 3 Mattsson/Marques (LU) def. Diaz/Stephenson, 9-8.
