GREENWOOD - Anderson University's Lasse Sohrweide took a pass from Mark Smith with 19 seconds remaining Wednesday night and fired in the game-winning shot from in front of the goal to lead the No. 21 Trojans men's soccer team to a 2-1 upset over No. 11 Lander at the Jeff May Complex.
Lander slips to 6-3-1 overall, while Anderson improves to 8-2.
Anderson took a 1-0 lead at 66:38 when James Moseley scored on a Ben Jones assist.
The Bearcats bounced back less than two minutes later to tie the game at 1-1 on a Chris Hobbs shot that was assisted by Matthew Bell at 68:30.
Anderson outshot Lander, 19-16, and Lander led in corner kicks, 5-4.
Lander goalkeeper Scott Playle recorded 8 saves, while Anderson's Lukas Hesse had six.
