GREENWOOD – The Lander volleyball team completed its regular-season sweep of Francis Marion Friday night when the Bearcats claimed a 3-2 Peach Belt Conference victory in Horne Arena. Games scores were: 17-25, 25-20, 26-24, 16-25, 15-12.

Lander improves to 13-13 overall and 3-7 in the PBC, while FMU drops to 10-15, 2-8.

Magi Nottingham and Jessica Register led Lander with double-doubles. Nottingham, one of two seniors honored on Senior Night, had 10 kills and 15 digs, while Register totaled 40 assists and 21 digs. Hannah Dederick and Jordan Rix added 10 kills each for Lander, while Kiki Hennessey and Madison Kubal had 26 digs each. Mallory Wasik, the other senior, saw limited action due to an injury.

Francis Marion was led by Ashlee Crook (16 kills, 31 digs), Amanda Mitchell (13 kills), Nicole Bennett (41 assists, 16 digs), Hallie Legg (18 digs), Page Perreault (18 digs), and Meghan Peji (20 digs).

Lander will host UNC Pembroke at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, in a PBC contest in Horne Arena.
