GREENWOOD – Casey Black scored the game's lone goal in the 83rd minute Wednesday afternoon to lead the Lander women's soccer team to its school-record 10th shutout of the season, a 1-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over USC Aiken at the Jeff May Complex.
Lander improves to 12-2-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the PBC, while USCA drops to 4-9, 1-6.
In a contest which was affected by high winds, Black finally netted the game-winning goal from the right side at 83:30 on an assist from Christina Barbour. It was Black's second goal of the year and Barbour's seventh assist.
The Lady Bearcats outshot the Lady Pacers, 16-3, and led in corner kicks, 10-1.
USCA goalkeeper Alli Edens recorded six saves, while Lander's Chelsea Beetch had one.
