SALISBURY, N.C. - The Lander volleyball team won both its games Saturday af the Catawba Invitation Volleyball Tournament when the Bearcats defeated Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-2, and downed Pfeiffer, 3-1.

Lander, which improves to 2-1 overall, defeated Lenoir-Rhyne, 24-26, 25-15, 20-26, 25-15, 15-8, then downed Pfeiffer, 25-13, 20-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Against Lenoir-Rhyne, Candace LaRocca led the way with 42 assists and 15 digs, while Magi Nottingham added 11 kills and 17 digs, Melissa McCracken 16 kills and Lindsey Everhart 15 kills. Madsion Kubal recorded 31 digs, while Chelsey Corgan added four services aces and six digs.

Against Pfeiffer, McCracken had 13 kills, while LaRocca added 44 assists, Nottingham, eight kills and 11 digs, and Kubal 18 digs.
