NEWBERRY - Three Lander volleyball players posted double-doubles Wednesday night to lead the Bearcats to a 3-2 non-conference victory over Newberry College. The Bearcats won 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 27-25, 15-10.
Lander improves to 7-7 overall, while Newberry falls to 10-6.
Lindsey Everhart led the way with 18 kills and a .395 hitting percentage, while Melissa McCracken added 15 kills and 19 digs, Magi Nottingham 11 kills and 16 digs, and Candace LaRocca 53 assists and 11 digs. Nottingham added two service aces, while Hannah Dederick recorded four block assists and Madison Kubal had 25 digs and two service aces.
Newberry was led by Kara Harris (21 kills, 19 digs, 4 aces), Samantha Parrish (15 kills, 12 digs, 4 block assists), Anne Staudinger (14 kills), Brianna Blakely (53 assists, 12 digs), Nadia Andrade (26 digs), and Llindsey Hollingsworth (11 digs).
The Bearcats will next host USC Aiken in a Peach Belt Conference game at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6.
