MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Lander women's soccer team evened its record at 5-5 Wednesday night when the Lady Bearcats lost to Georgia College, 2-1, in a Peach Belt Conference game.
GCSU improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the PBC, while Lander is 0-4 in the PBC.
Lander took a 1-0 lead at 18:29 when Christin Moss scored off a pass from Rachel Datz.
GCSU's Brittaney Borror's tied the game at 46:35 from three yards out on a cross from Katie Taylor.
Kayla Emerson netted the game-winning goal at 54:08 on a breakaway assisted by Borror.
Lander outshot GCSU, 18-17, and both teams had four corner kicks.
Lander goalkeeper Jamie Shaw recorded six saves in one half of play, while GCSU's Mary Rob Plunkett had three.
Lander will host Georgia Southwestern in a PBC game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
