GREENWOOD - Ashlee Crook and Nicole Bennett each had double-doubles for Francis Marion Saturday afternoon to lead the Patriots volleyball team to a 3-2 Peach Belt Conference win against Lander at Horne Arena. FMU won, 28-26, 21-25, 25-13, 19-25, 15-11.
FMU improves to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 6-7, 1-5.
For the Patriots, Crook had 13 kills and 19 digs, while Bennett registered 53 assists and 10 digs. Riley Forester, Mallory Eggert and Danielle Parker had 14, 12, and 11 kills respectively, while Kelsie Deaton added 25 digs, Liz Drewry 15 and Hallie Legg 12. Eggert added three service aces, while Forester and Megan Mooney had two each.
Lander's Candace LaRocca, Magi Nottingham and Melissa McCracken also posted double-doubles. LaRocca recorded 61 assists and 12 digs, Nottingham 12 kills and 25 digs and McCracken 16 kills and 16 digs. Lindsey Everhart and Hannah Dederick had 17 and 15 kills respectively, while Madison Kubal chipped in 18 digs and Abbey Focht 15.
