TIGERVILLE - The Lander women's soccer team got goals from three different players Thursday night as they kicked the season off with a 3-1 non-conference victory over North Greenville University at Pepsi Stadium.
Lander is 1-0 overall, while North Greenville is 0-1.
Jamie Shaw gave the Lady Bearcats a 1-0 lead on a goal just 13:27 into the game.
The Lady Crusaders came back to tie the score at 1-1 on an unassisted goal by Cara Cecil.
Kendall Couch gave Lander the lead for good at 52:12 and the Lady Bearcats netted their final goal when Christina Barbour found the back of the net at 59:10.
Lander's Katherine Baltz earned the victory in goal with six saves, while NGU's Regina Ibanga took the loss with three goals allowed and two saves.
The Lady Bearcats next travel to Wingate on Saturday for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
