AIKEN - The Lander volleyball team dropped its Peach Belt Conference opener Wednesday night when the Bearcats fell to USC Aiken, 25-23, 25-20, 28-26, in the Convocation Center.
USC Aiken improves to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the PBC, while Lander is 5-3, 0-1.
Melissa McCracken led Lander with 10 kills and six digs, while Magi Nottingham had nine kills and 17 digs, Mallory Wasik eight kills, and Lindsey Everhart seven. Candace LaRocca recorded 23 assists and Madison Kubal had 11 digs.
Leah Rodgers paced USCA with 12 kills, while Shannon Byers and Megan Disney had 11 each. Ashley Farwell dished off 23 assists and Samantha Lukralle had a team-high 16 digs.
