GREENWOOD - The Lander women's soccer team, which moved up to No. 5 this week in the Southeast Region rankings, battled back from a 1-0 deficit Tuesday night to defeat Anderson University, 2-1, in a non-conference game.
Lander improves to 4-1-0 overall, while Anderson slips to 3-2-1.
The Lady Trojans took a 1-0 lead at 17:14 when Carrie Settle scored in a mix from in front of the goal on an assist from Krystal Goss.
Lander tied the game at 31:12 when Jessica Skowron netted a goal on a Nina Morales assist. Christina Barbour followed with the game-winning goal three minutes later on an assist from Skowron.
Lander outshot Anderson, 21-5, and led in corner kicks, 7-0.
Anderson goalkeeper Kaitlin Neipp recorded nine saves, while Lander's Katherine Baltz had three.
