AIKEN - Lander's Melanise Newbold battled USC Aiken's Ida Sandberg for three sets Tuesday afternoon before pulling out the winning point at No. 6 singles in the Lady Bearcats 5-4 victory over USC Aiken in a Peach Belt Conference tennis match. Newbold won, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
Lander, which is ranked No. 35, improves to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the PBC, while USCA drops to 6-8, 2-6.
