FLORENCE - The Lander men's soccer team won its fourth straight game by the score of 2-1 Monday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated Francis Marion in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
Lander is 8-5 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the PBC, while FMU drops to 5-8-1, 2-4-0.
FMU took a 1-0 lead at 18:02 when Justin Walton scored on a double assist from Chris Foltanski and Shane McConlogue.
Lander's Jamie Davison tied the game at 44:06 on a 12-yard blast in front of the goal.
Craig Hughes scored the game-winner, his seventh goal of the season, from six yards out on a double assist from Aaron Brittain and Adam Wolf.
FMU outshot Lander, 10-9, but the Bearcats led in corner kicks, 6-2.
Lander goalkeeper Matt Atkinson totaled four saves, while FMU's Clark Richeson had one.
Lander next travels to North Greenville College for a non-conference game at 7 p.m., Wednesday.
