CENTRAL - The Lander volleyball team improved to 12-4 Tuesday night when it defeated Southern Wesleyan University, 3-0, in a non-conference contest. Lander won, 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.

Kendall Eayrs led the way with 10 kills and three block assists, while Lindsey Everhart added seven kills and two block assists, and Melissa McCracken seven kills and eight digs. Candace LaRocca registered 17 assists and Chelsey Corgan, this week's PBC Specialist of the Week, had 13 digs and three service aces.

Lander will travel to USC Aiken for a 7 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match on Friday Oct. 2. The Bearcats will host Catawba in a non-conference game at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3.
