GREENWOOD - The Lander women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and all but one singles en route to a 7-2 non-conference victory over Anderson University Thursday afternoon at The Joe Cabri Courts.

Lander improves to 10-5 on the season.

In singles, No. 1 Anni Pajunen (L) def. Marcela Gallegos, 6-2, 4-6, 10-5; No. 2 Eliza Adusumilli (L) def. Milena Goncalves, 6-0, 6-1; No. 3 Vuokko Vahatalo (L) def. Julie Halbert, 6-4, 6-0; No. 4 Caitlin Fell (L) def. Shelby Anderson, 6-7, 6-1, 10-5; No. 5 Laura Gorman (A) def. Nicola James, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4; and No. 6 Melanise Newbold (L) def. Kasie Sparkman, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, No. 1 Anderson/Gallegos (A) def. Pajunen/Vahatalo, 8-4; No. 2 Adusumilli/James (L) def. Halbert/Goncalves, 8-0; and No. 3 Zaia/Fell (L) def. Gorman/Sparkman, 8-1.
