DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Lander women's tennis team remained unbeaten in the spring season Sunday after defeating North Georgia, 8-1, in the Peach Belt conference openers for both teams.

Lander is 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the PBC and North Georgia is 0-2, 0-1.

In singles, No. 1 Vuokko Vahatalo (LU) def. Velina Boteva, 6-0, 6-1; No. 2 Anni Pajunen (LU) def. Maria Dreaden, 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 Eliza Adusumilli (LU) def. Katherine Harrison, 6-0, 6-1, No. 4 Caitlin Fell (LU) def. Meredith Cash, 6-1, 6-1; No. 5 Nicola James (LU) def. Ashley Marie Jordan, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2; and No. 6 Ana Luiza Zaia (LU) def. Malory Perloff, 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles, No. 1 Boteva/Dreaden (NG) def. Pajunen/Zaia, 8-3; No. 2 Adusumilli/James (LU) def. Harrison/Cash, 8-4; and No. 3 Vahatalo/Fell (LU) def. Jordan/Perloff, 8-0.
