USC Aiken Lady Pacers hold off Lady Bearcats, 78-70

AIKEN - The USC Aiken women's basketball team placed four players in double figures Wednesday night as the Lady Pacers defeated Lander, 78-70, in a Peach Belt Conference game in the USCA Convocation Center.

USCA improves to 19-8 overall and 11-6 in the PBC, while Lander falls to 15-9, 10-7.

Lander was led by Jasmine Judge, who scored a team-high 15 points by making 5-of-10 three pointers. Ciara Lyons added 11 points. Kaylyn Small led the Lady Bearcats in rebounds with nine.

For the Lady Pacers, Kendra Chandler scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Morgan Johnson netted 17 points and had seven boards, Megan Starnes had 15 points and Nakia Pinkney 11.

Lander was 25-of-58 from the floor for 43.1 percent, including 6-of-15 three pointers for 40 percent. Lander also made 14-of-24 free throws for 58.3 percent.

USCA, which led 45-35 at halftime, connected on 26-of-53 field goals for 49.1 percent, including just 2-of-11 three pointers. USCA also made 24-of-31 foul shots for 77.4 percent.

Lander will Clayton State at 2 p.m. Saturday during Homecoming Weekend in Horne Arena.
