CENTRAL - Sara Senn went 4-for-8 Thursday afternoon to lead the Lander softball team to a non-conference doubleheader split at Southern Wesleyan University.
Lander won the first game, 3-2, and lost the second, 4-3. SWU improves to 3-1 overall, while Lander is 4-4.
Nikki Brown (1-0) earned the win in the first game as she struck out one, walked three and allowed two earned runs on five hits in four innings pitched.
SWU's Breanna McMillan (1-1) took the loss as she struck out four, walked one and allowed one earned run on six hits in seven complete innings.
Senn went 3-for-4 with one triple and two runs scored, while Carrie Hudson went 2-for-3.
The Warriors' Lianne Adkins went 2-for-3.
In the second game, SWU's Teanne Pilgrim (1-0) earned the win by striking out one, walking two and allowing just one earned run on five hits in seven complete innings.
Lander's Bailee Lee (0-1) suffered the loss as she struck out one and allowed two earned runs on three hits in one inning pitched.
For SWU, Jessica Schwartz went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Lauren Angel went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Lander's Natalie Smith went 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI, while Hudson went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
