MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Lander volleyball team closed out the regular-season portion of its schedule Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 30-28) loss to the University of Montevallo in a Peach Belt Conference match in Banktrust Arena.

Montevallo improves to 19-13 overall and 8-6 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 17-14, 5-9.

Magi Nottingham led the way for Lander with 11 kills and six digs, while Lindsey Everhart and Kendall Eayrs added eight kills each. Candace LaRocca posted 23 assists and eight digs to go along with Ashley Ferry's team-high 18 digs and Melissa McCracken's 11 digs and five kills.

Montevallo was led by Carson Anderson (14 kills), Katie Johnson (13 kills, nine digs), Katy Handrick (12 digs, nine kills), Anna Garrison (40 assists, 19 digs, three service aces) and Brittany Wilson (17 digs).

Lander will next participate in next weekend's PBC tournament hosted by USC Aiken in Aiken, S.C.
