GREENWOOD - Three University of Montevallo volleyball players posted double-doubles Friday night as the Falcons rallied for a 3-2 Peach Belt Conference win over Lander in Horne Arena. Game scores were: 25-16, 20-25, 22-25, 25-15, 15-13.

Montevallo improves to 13-9 overall and 4-3 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 12-7, 4-4.

Lander came back from a 2-0 deficit in the fifth game and the teams were tied at 3-3 and 4-4. Lander scored five unanswered points to take a 9-4 advantage only to have Montevallo come back and tie the game at 10-10. The Falcons took the lead for good at 12-11.

Lander's Melissa McCracken had a game-high 22 kills, while Magi Nottingham added 13 kills and 11 digs, and Candace LaRocca 36 assists and 14 digs. Chelsey Corgan added a game-high 25 digs and Ashley Ferry had 10.

Montevallo was led by Katie Johnson (17 kills, 15 digs), Katy Handrick (16 kills, 18 digs), Anna Garrison (54 assists, 13 digs), Rebecca Dowd (10 kills) and Brittany Wilson (17 digs).

Lander will play a non-conference game at Lenoir-Rhyne at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13.
