PEMBROKE, N.C. - The Lander women's soccer team scored three first-half goals en route to a 3-1 Peach Belt Conference victory against UNC Pembroke Saturday afternoon.
Lander improves to 9-1-2 overall and 5-1-1 in the PBC, while UNCP drops to 8-5-1, 3-3-1.
Christina Barbour scored the first of her two goals at 19:53 on a double assist from Jamie Shaw and Christin Moss.
The Bearcats extended their lead to 2-0 on Kelley Maupin's header off a rebounded shot from Moss at 24:58.
Barbour netted her second score on a cross from Jamie Shaw at 40:02 to give Lander a 3-0 advantage.
UNCP scored its lone goal at 58:37 when Britney Joiner floated the ball over Lander goalkeeper Chelsea Beetch.
The Lady Braves outshot Lander, 14-13, and led in corner kicks, 6-1.
Beetch and UNCP goalkeeper Rea Segoviano each had four saves.
Lander will host Columbus State in at PBC makeup game at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19.
