ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Lander women's soccer team recorded its sixth shutout of the season Saturday evening when the Bearcats defeated Flagler College, 2-0 in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
Lander improves to 7-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the PBC, while Flagler drops to 6-4-1, 3-1-1.
The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead at 32:55 when Christina Barbour scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season on an assist from Lauren MacDonald.
Christin Moss extended the lead to 2-0 at 69:01 when she scored her fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick.
Lander goalkeeper Chelsea Beetch recorded five saves, while Flagler's Christie Reuther had three.
Flagler outshot Lander, 16-13, while both team had three corner kicks.
Lander will host USC Aiken at 4:30, Wednesday, Oct. 14 in a PBC contest.
