DUE WEST – Senior Jannica Finnberg netted two goals and added one assist Thursday night to lead the Lander women's soccer team to a 4-1 season-opening, non-conference game at Erskine College.

Finnberg found the back of the net in the first minute of play to give the Lady Bearcats a 1-0 lead.

Lander stretched the margin to 2-0 in the 33rd minute when freshman Andrea Camere scored an unassisted goal.

Freshman Morgan Riddle scored Erskine's lone goal when she converted a loose ball in the box to end the first half.

Annie Polhamus gave the Bearcats a 3-1 lead at 76:02 on an assist by Finnberg, then Finnberg netted her final goal on an assist by Charlotte Hall.

Erskine goalkeeper Jordan Lawson recorded four saves on the evening while Lander's Rachael Hine had one. Lander outshot Erskine, 11-3.
