AIKEN - The Lander women's soccer team got its Peach Belt Conference schedule off to a good start Wednesday night when the Lady Bearcats defeated USC Aiken, 2-1, in overtime.
Lander improves to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the PBC, while USCA drops to 1-7-1, 0-1.
Andrea Camere scored two goals for the second time in two weeks in leading Lander to victory. Camere's unassisted goal with less than two minutes in overtime proved to be the game winner.
Camere gave Lander a 1-0 lead on an assist from Christin Moss in the 82nd minute.
USC Aiken forced the overtime when they scored in the 86th minute.
Lander goalkeeper Rachael Hine was credited with three saves.
Lander will host North Georgia College & State University in a PBC game at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27.
