GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Lander volleyball team went the distance in two games Saturday at the Tusculum College Volleyball Classic, but ended up on the losing end of both as the Bearcats fell to Montevallo and Christian Brothers, 3-2, in non-conference competition. Lander lost to Montevallo, 23-25, 25-21, 8-25, 25-20, 15-12, then fell to Christian Brothers, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 9-25, 15-12.
Lander drops to 9-3 on the season.
Against Montevallo, Mallory Wasik had 11 kills, 16 digs and three assists, Magi Nottingham nine kills and 22 digs; Marina Camps 25 digs; and Candace LaRocca 33 assists and three service aces.
Against Christian Brothers, Kerri Sorensen had 11 kills and 13 digs; Kay Stewart 12 kills and three solo blocks; LaRocca 32 assists and two service aces; and Ashley Ferry 19 digs.
