GREENWOOD - The Lander women's tennis team won its second match in as many days Tuesday afternoon when the Lady Bearcats defeated Barton College, 7-2, in a non-conference match at the Joe Cabri Courts.

Lander improves to 8-4 overall.

In singles, No. 1 Fernanda Oliveira (LU) def. Nadia Filmater, 6-7, 7-6, ret.; No. 2 Vuokko Vahatalo (LU) def. Chelsea Hseih, 7-6, 6-2; No. 3 Anni Pajunen (LU) def. Meaghan Lynch, 6-0, 6-1; No. 4 Caitlin Fell (LU) def. Summer Chase, 6-0, 6-0; No. 5 Jessica Galasso (BC) def. Ana Luiza Zaia, 7-5, 6-2; and No. 6 Haley Sayer (LU) def. Kristen Packer, 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles, Filmater/Hseih (BC) def. Pajunen/Zaia, 8-6; No. 2 Vahatalo/Fell (LU) def. Lynch/Packer, 8-2; and No. 3 Oliveira/Kristinanne Emmanouil (LU) def. Chase/Galasso, 8-4.
