GREENWOOD - The Lander women's tennis team swept the doubles matches and won five of six singles Thursday afternoon to defeat North Greenville, 8-1, in a non-conference match at the Joe Cabri Courts.

Lander impoves to 6-4 on the season.

In singles, No. 1 Salem Erni (NG) def. Fernanda Oliveira, 6-3, 6-4; No. 2 Vuokko Vahatalo (LU) def. Cheri Curtis, 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 Anni Pajunen (LU) def. Courtney Lynn, 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 Caitlin Fell (LU) def. Lindsey McNeeley, 6-0, 6-2; No. 5 Ana Luiza Zaia (LU) def. Aubrey Sawyer, 6-2, 6-4; and No. 6 Melanise Newbold (LU) def. Caitlyn Whitted, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles, Pajunen/Zaia (LU) def. Erni/Curtis, 8-4; No. 2 Vahatalo/Fell (LU) def. Lynn/McNeely, 8-2; and No. 3 Emmanouil/Oliviera (LU) def. Sawyer/Whitted, 8-1.
