COLUMBUS, Ga. - Zach Evans scored 17 points and Houston Wright added 15 Saturday afternoon to lead the Lander men's basketball team to a 66-53 Peach Belt Conference victory over Columbus State University at the Lumpkin Center.
Lander improves to 9-11 overall and 6-7 in the PBC, while the Cougars drop to 11-12, 7-6.
Evans connected on 4-of-9 field goals, including 3-of-6 three pointers and 6-of-6 free throws. Brenton Harris posted a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Travis Matthews led CSU with 17 points, while Corris Portis added 10. Maurice Arnold grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Lander, which led 31-25 at halftime, connected on 24-of-64 field goals for 37.5 percent, 7-of-24 three pointers for 29.2 percent and 11-of-14 free throws for 78.6 percent.
CSU made 14-of-53 floor shots for 26.4 percent, 5-of-24 three-point shots for 20.8 percent and 20-of-24 free throws for 83.3 percent.
