FLORENCE - Nate Morley and Sam Smith scored 16 and 14 points respectively Monday night to lead the Francis Marion University men's basketball team to a 60-55 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander at the Smith University Center.
FMU improves to 10-13 overall and 4-12 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 9-14, 6-10.
Houston Wright led the Bearcats with 15 points while Zach Evans had 11. Dane Sparrow added nine points and eight rebounds.
Francis Marion led at halftime, 27-25.
Lander connected on 20-of-54 field goals for 37 percent, including 7-of-26 three pointers for 27 percent. The Bearcats made 8-of-18 free throws for 44.4 percent.
FMU was 21-of-47 from the field for 44.6 percent, including 6-of-16 three pointers for 37.5 percent. The Patriots made 12-of-23 foul shots for 52.1 percent.
